Boxane Mono
Description
You need a mono that looks designed, not defaulted. Most monospace fonts come out of a code editor and still look like one. Boxane Mono comes from the layout side: geometric forms on a fixed grid, with a cap height of 700 and an x-height of 550 that keep lines tidy in tables, labels and interface cards.
Two styles share one skeleton. Regular is the clean version, made for headlines, UI text and technical manuals. Inktrap cuts small notches into the joins, so letters keep their shape on a loud poster, a vinyl label or a headline set at 255 pt. Put them side by side and the difference reads at a glance.
Every character takes the same width. Flight-board numerals, spec tables and receipts line up without any fixing. Stylistic set ss01 swaps in alternates for A, M, a and W when a logo or a title needs a stranger rhythm, and standard ligatures are on by default. Accents cover 87 Latin-script languages, from English and Spanish to Indonesian and Swahili.
It is a display-minded mono. Use it for headlines, captions, data and short blocks of text, not for a forty-page report. Set it small in a caption or large over a photo, and the grid still holds.
A grid font with a point of view.
